lol, was intending to screenie the boss battle, but he's a sod and I got carried away in trying to top him!!

:( Aeris was brown bread when I beat him. My queued up move was a phoenix down but he snuffed it first and she missed out on 2000 xp :(

Can remember that boss when was a kid took like 7 goes to kill it due to it tranformed into a full purple or orange and owned me... just started to play agian and got upto it and dropped it abit to easy even with using the rubish double AP items instead of attack
1hit off barret , 1hit off XII , Cloud limit break , 1hit from barret ^^ it didnt even transform
 
Bit of an odd question, but if anyone is playing through this on the pc would you know which folder the save files are located in, thanks.
 
Hey all,

After having a "break" if you will from this I decided to crack it out again and carry on. Just finished the ice bit getting to the crater on Disc 2 :D (hate the ice bit :( )

So I remember reading on here someone had a walkthrough guide on pdf.... I was wondering if someone could email it too me please ?

I still have my orginal walkthrough guide but I cba to carry the book everywhere :p

I never realised that you had to switch your limit level once you've earned the next ones up.

When I finished this years ago I only used level one limits the whole way through the game.:eek::confused:
 
Dont know if it has been answered yet but I swear I read in a guide that you have to do a random battle after beating Ultimate to make ruby show himself
 
I`m about 10 hours in and I've just got the bronco, so taking my time really.

Got 2 enemy skills with white wind, beta, trine, aqualung and big guard so battles are a bit easy now :D. If i know there is an inn nearby, i just beta anything that attacks me so fights are over quickly. My party is cloud, barrett and Cid (just got). Anyone else have favourites?
 
My current line up is Cloud, Barret and Yuffie. I'm really happy with this line up.

My first play of FF7 I had Cloud, Vincent and Tifa. I soon found out that Vincents limits are a bit meh really. Same with Tifa tbh. Her limits can do quite a bit of damage then again they can be really poor too depending on how good you are on the slots.

I just got to the part where the weapons have been set loose :D
I'm gunna have to play Crisis core after this I think :)

Seal Evil destroys this boss.

I started playing again a few weeks ago, taking it really slowly. I'm trying to put off finishing disc 1 just cause Aeris is such a useful asset. I say that, shes left for the City of the Ancients now! Usually my party would be Cloud/Barret/Tifa, however this time i'm thinking I may experiment with Yuffie and Cid, or maybe even Red XIII!
 
Find a forest in the world map, run around in circles in it, fight many battles, yuffie will appear, beat yuffie, select correct dialogue responses, done.

There are only two or three though. I remember one being near Junon, the massive one next to a mountain and another being outside of Rocket Town. If I recall it needs to be one of them and then you beat her in battle.

The next steps are important:
DO NOT save
DO NOT go to the menu

Speak to Yuffie and follow the dialogue options below:

Yuffie: You spiky-headed jerk! One more time, let's go one more time.
Cloud: Not Interested.
Yuffie: You're pretty scared of me, huh?
Cloud: Petrified.
Yuffie will act like she's leaving now but fear not!
Yuffie: I'm really going to leave!
Cloud: Wait a second!
Yuffie: You want me to join you?
Cloud: That's right
Yuffie: All right, I'll go with you.
Cloud: Let's hurry.

Do this and she will join the party :).
 
Nice to see the thread still going :)

Still yet to do Emerald and Ruby, but hooked on Valkyria Chronicles at the moment......

Can't look at any Valkyria threads or guides on here in case of spoilers. I assume I'm at least 50% through the game and something pretty major just happened, genuinely made me sad!!
I have to say, I probably have more emotional connection to the characters and story of VC than I did with FF VII.
 
VC has fantastic characters, better than FFVII for sure, but the storyline is where it's lacking in comparison to FFVII. Add to that the lack of 'optional stuff' like ruby and emerald and you get what is imo a slightly inferior game to FFVII. Though, being inferior to FFVII is no insult.

I assume the 'major thing' involved a surprise departure? If so, you're prob about half way i reckon, maybe two thirds. The biggest twist of the storyline is yet to come however...


I hope you're buying and completing the optional chapters? Some of those are really good fun and expand on the characters, you even get some great perks.

What level would you guys say i need to be to do the battle square and get ominslash? I've never had it before as my first few attempts at the square had no materia as the first roll, which meant slow battles with very little reward and losing at around the 5th battle.

Or is it more dependent on the materia setup i have? I`m level 31ish now, with cloud having 2-2 limits, barret 3-1 and cid 1-2 and just recieved the tiny bronco.
