It's nothing to do with age and it's not all Fords - most HCS/Kent/Valencia/Endura E engines rattle because the tappets do not stay adjusted for very long - and start to make a noise.

Pinto, CVH, Zetec, Twincam etc don't really tend to rattle at all.

I realised, but I was saying that for me, it was so cheap to get a new (old) one that it was worth doing.

I've checked the car from a variety of angles, on different slopes, and can't see the wheel going wonky like that.. not sure what happened
