I'd be inlined to agree with the date thing. If the date was right that would mean the photo was taken before the number plate was out.

maybe not. could be an older plate in the form of LetterNumber5 EXE
but it is most likely true, as not many do setup the cameras time and date i think

What your saying is youd be the second person in this thread.. and ever.. to parallel supercharge a brand new Merc?

No i was on about the post he was talking about swapping the engine for an AMG one not sticking another supercharger on. :)

Judging by a previous thread id expect the plate to be MR55 EXE

Why not? Just block everything important out and leave your name and partial car reg

No coke????? what are you man, some kind of joker, hmmmm????

clearly you don't own this as merc owners would never ever drink apple juice, it reacts badly with... the cars seats. :D

There is no car reg of that plate recorded according to the RAC Vehicle check website. I would say maybe its because its just been registered but if its a 55 plate it will have been ages ago and the RAC site updated.

The RAC doesnt even have some plates registered years ago, so i wouldnt take it as gospel ;)

Also, its probably MK55 EXE, seeing as its from milton keynes

personally i dont see why people are so inclined to block the number plate.

best include age and just for fun the total cost of insurance :]

Im sorry but why are you lot ripping the *** out of him for buying a new merc to modify. To me it doesn't seem too wrong, you have lots of money and want to have an original upmarket car. I would do the same thing. And I would choose a merc over a BM as well, they are still seen as more upmarket than BM and there are fewer on the road. To me some of the comments smack of jealosy that you can't afford that type of car and have to make do with modifying some clapped out 15yr old car (not saying all of your cars are like that).

What i'm saying is give him a bit of slack on the project part of the car, its not that far fetched.

On the other hand even though I would like to believe him the pictures do seem a little suspect, most of them looking like they were taken from the main dealers website (showing small bits like seat and steering wheel)
You should fully star your swearies and read what the OP is actually proposing too while you're at it ;)

The project car is that far fetched.

Becuase it isn't plausible.

Had he said 'Hi, I just bought a new car for myself, its this Merc, I know but I love Mercs and really want to modify it' then fair enough. Daft voiding the warranty like that, but fair enough.

But he didnt.

He already has a 2005 BMW 530d, worth what, nearly £30k. Then he posts saying he's going to buy an extra car to go with it - something like a brand new BMW 330i (Whats the point? He has a 530d?) or a Porsche Cayman.

Oh yea, and he's also bought a brand new Merc rep-mobile but purely to modify.

THATS why its so far fetched. Either of these things on its own, fair enough. But all 3? In the same thread? Before lunchtime?

Get real.

jeez.... 5 pages of people going "LOLZ YOU DON'T OWN THAT CAR<!!! FAJKE!!! OMFGWTFBBQ"

Then we got some MI5 operative jackass finding out the model of camera he used to take the photo for god sake, in the vain hope of invalidating his story.....

GET A LIFE...

oh and stig, like the car m8y ! :-)
