REad dead pc!!!

A very good game. Not going to be everyone's cup of tea but definitely a triple A title. I did find the story a little slow and took a break for a couple of months before finishing it over Christmas. I’m not a fan of the western genre but can see this ticked all the right boxes.

Multiplayer was lacklustre unfortunately. I’ve picked up the Undead DLC and am enjoying a completely different tale now. Will probably trade it in after that as I can’t see myself going back for more replays.

It's a decent enough game but gets very repetitive, it wouldn't be as bad but it has MANY 'drive to this place' missions - now that in itself isn't a *huge* deal as Mafia II was the same but I still really enjoyed that, HOWEVER: Red Dead Redemption has a massive landscape and it can take a while to get to places which really starts to drag after a few hours.

How can a game be crap that has a very good single player
Sandbox games normally consist of more than just the main story element. GTAIV's main character and missions are pretty much rubbish, yet overall very enjoyable due to it's side quests, which bring it upto scratch. Red Dead is exactly the opposite a good main storyline and main character - and that is all. At the end you're left feeling screwed. You've got a huge world and just nothing there. A huge wasted opportunity when you look at the overall picture.

I agree, an amazing game. Looking forward to the sequel. Surprised it wasn't released on all formats to begin with?!

I thought there were plenty of side quests and things to do to keep me occupied from one place to another. If you get bored you could always hog tie a prostitute, jump on your horse and drag her through town :P

Agreed. Rockstar will milk that golden cash cow's teet to the max. I would be happy if it is released on PC as I don't have a console but really wanted to play RDR when it came out.

Most of the GTAs since 3 have been released on console first then around a year or so later get released on PC. Hopefully that will be the case for this game! Fingers crossed...

The one thing that worries me is if it will be a dodgy port like GTA4 and cause no end of performance issues unless you have a £1000+ rig.

I wish people would stop saying it.

GTA4 performance sucked ON THE CONSOLES. Its NOT a bad port, its a badly coded game full stop, playing it on the 360 is painful, theres slowdown galore, the framerate going over a bridge at night is shockingly poor. It runs like crap on ANYTHING you play it on.

Red Dead plays nice and smooth, and doesn't really have any of the issues GTA has, highly populated area's, lots of buildings, people, lots of light sources, etc, etc.

As for Red Dead, its a pretty decent game, just lacks a bit of, difficulty. It would have been horrible without auto lock on, or I should say, combat while riding would have been horrible, but with it, its just too easy. Decent game but, I've played it, couldn't care less if it comes out on the PC now.

I know what you mean, but to most the console versions were playable from the get go. Even though it was classed as poor performance.

I had to wait for the game to be released, then wait for an upgrade before I could even play it. Even then it wasn't the best and I had to spend a good hour or so buggering about with the setup.

Damn shame too, because GTA4 was epic and when I got going I loved it! I guess rockstar tried to do too much and hardware limitations kicked in.

That being said, encouraging that RDR will hopefully be better in terms of performance. Still a game I am looking forward to being released on PC...if it gets released!

lmao, I did that in that lawless town not far from where you are rescued at the start. I do recall one really awesome ghost town area within the games lands - which would have been a brilliant opportunity for a good haunted mansion sort of thing. Alas like most of the game, it was just empty :/
