Reading Festival 2007

It was my first Festival also and it really was an experience i won't forget - explains the quick ordering of tickets!

I am willing to bet money that Lostprophets will be playing.

Watched it on TV last year and was decidedly unimpressed.. Pearl Jam were the only band i'd have paid to see  that said, the atmosphere would be great once there :)

Don't judge it all on television coverage. Plus, the atomsphere is just as good as the music. :)

Pillow fight anyone? ;)

You can't get into the festival site until 8am friday, at which point it will be impossible to find a camping spot.

By the time you get in and find a spot you'll be knackered and probably miss some of the bands anyway.

I'd try and wait and get hold of full weekend tickets so you can go up on the thursday or even better, get an early entry pass and go on the wednesday.

Early entry passes can't be used with those tickets either else that'd be an obvious workaround.

Still better than not going at all, just a bit awkward.

What the hell?

I arrived last year at about midday on a wednesday. Bought an early entry pass and 10 minutes later we were let in. This was ALL before 6pm. I stayed until monday morning.

Funniest thing was waking up on friday and laughing at people trying to squash their tents between other people. There were literally gaps between tents of less than 10cm. Got a bit crowded but what an atomsphere!

I bought my ticket 2 days after i returned home from the last one. My friends and I took a gamble...and it paid off. But we still would have gone whoever was playing solely for the atomsphere. :)

Apparently the Yellow camping site is the best place to go? I've got an Early Entry pass and so was hoping to go to that one. Do they limit the amount of people who can get in to each site or is it literally however many people can fit? Will it all be a mad rush to find a decent site?

Get there early basically. As early as you can on wednesday. Green is generally known to be quieter as it's quite close to the arena. I camped there last year and i prefer it there as opposed to trekking all the way to the other camps.

Yellow and Brown are louder basically. But nothing stopping you from leaving your campsite and having a wander at 4am. :)

Can you buy the early entry things "on the door" then? So I could arrive to Leeds on Wednesday with my tickets and pay for early entry?

I don't know about Leeds but i bought mine "on the door" at Reading.
