Are they all good books?

oh.. Its not a reading festival, its a reading festival... i see ! ;)

Well, big fat line up and only Radiohead who I fancy seeing (that I've not seen before).

Although I may be marshalling at Leeds so seeing any of them for free is always a bonus.

Will be 6 years running for the Subways if they play, and they did say they would last year at Leeds, I was right at the front getting my ears owned by the rather ridiculous levels of bass Charlotte had. Got terribly sunburnt that day :(

theyre rumours atm but some of the lineup will be revealed 15mins before tickets go on sale. 36 crazyfists self confirmed at a gig apparently :):)

Yeah its usually about 10-15 bands including the 3 main headlineers that are announced on the ticket release day and throughout the months building up to the festival more and more are added on the website.

I heard blink 182 self confirmed themselves in an interview but im not sure if that is just a rumour and I have a feeling the lineup is going to be as good as last year especially with biffy not being there.

Oh yeah i forgot about biffy, they said last year that they werent going to play for a while.

Oh well even if they did they'd play main stage which was **** !
has to be NME tent or nothink.

Did anyone go then?

I just read this on another forum... was it really like this?

I just spent a week as a fire marshall at reading festival , if you dont know about reading on the last night most people burn all their stuff in huge fires of tents, plastic chairs, sleeping bags, gas cannisters, aerosols they destroy food, attack things like portaloos which they set on fire power poles which they pull down or burn , this year they burnt some vehicles , last year 15 got burned I think in a "accident "

anyway I personally was putting out fires from 8 at night till 2 the next afternoon my fire tower used 20 plus extinguishers god knows how much water we had to call in the fire brigade on a number of occasions to deal with the big fires , we had loads of explosions .

I got hit while trying to put out fires hit one guy with extinguisher and sprayed others in the face who tried to hit me ,saw riot police being used to try to stop fires saw mobs throwing bottles at police and security .
anyway this pretty much happens every year in fact this year was mild there were more explosions I think last year .

anyway if you had seen the level of moronic ****erism that Ive just seen you would be far more sure things will get ugly when these people find out where they stand .

the average age Id say was 16-25 many of the crowd are well educated but they just enjoy destroying perfectly good stuff and having a sort of riot for the sake of rioting .

actually working the event Id say was great practice for the near future and shows how hard it would be to stop people burning down a city.

reading has about 87.000 people Id say more than half burned their stuff

^^ that sounds like Leeds from the past two years, however this year it was a lot calmer even peaceful for a change, which was nice to see. (I was in yellow btw)
