Reading lineup announced

Posts like these make me sad.
Yeah wtf? We have some pretty braindead people browsing these forums.

Hat comes off to Chronos-X though, couldn't have made it much better myself, except I'd do away with the punk & 80's perm metal bands in favour of obscure post rock outfits :p .

I can only hope that those people, like me, were joking, and that the rest of you, realising that no-one could possibly interpret the OP as anything but a joke, understand this and are themselves posting in jest.

If not, I fear for us all.

I think the lack of smilies/winks or any other suggestion of jest (noted in your post too) means that you suckers really did fall for a lineup containing bands who have long since split, and in some cases members of which have been dead and burried for years.

Nice work :).

Yep to name a few, Joe Strummer from The Clash is dead, most of Skynyrd are too (only two original members remaining :\).

My first reaction on looking at the pic, though, was "Surprise surprise, the main stage lineup sucks" ;)
Yah, only cause Arcade Fire aren't on it :p.

oh, and check the names of the stages people ;) most of them are right, one of them is a little different :p

EDIT - must wipe tears of laughter from my eyes to read thread fully, and notice that what ive just written has already been said

Oh man, if only. What a line up!

I took a (fairly young) mate to one of the the Milton Keynes Green Day gigs in June last year.

In the car, one of the things he said was "God, I hate those people who love Green day just cos of American Idiot, they think it's the debut album!"

I couldn't help but smile. I think it'd take someone really dumb to think American Idiot is the debut, bless him, he was trying to be old-skool ;)

What's the point in deadpan humour if you're just going to put a stupid winking smiley at the end?

Hahaha :D

Haha.

Much as this lineup would at least convince me to go to Reading, reading this thread convinced me that a quick browse over the forum instead of going to bed was worth it :)

i hope this is some more of that "deadpan humour smilie free zones"
kerplunk and smoothed out slappy hours came before that.
kerplunk being the best greenday album ever released!
Heh, no, I have most of their albums, including Kerplunk!, but I can't remember :\. Isn't Dookie their debut as it was with a major label (otherwise their debut would be 39/smooth).
