Reading speed. How did you do?

69 days for game of thrones for an hour a day.

At the time I was spending most evenings & got through the entire collection within a month so it's pretty accurate really.

About 450 wpm (roughly).

I don't read books though, I don't find them enjoyable. I find reading anything is like reading an instruction manual. I don't visualise characters, situations, nor do I commit much to memory, so a few lines later I forgot what I just read.

Shame really as there are a few books I'd like to read, just every time I have tried, the above happens and I lose interest.

Managed to get the questions correct at least lol.

I read for several hours a day though, I don't watch much television (that said I enjoy watching the odd series or film). Usually if I'm vegging on the sofa it's with a book and some music on the in the background.

I like being able to read quickly if I'm reading something boring/ work related. A paper or a textbook or something.

But if I'm reading for pleasure I don't consciously think about the words, it's more like imagery in my head. I think the ability to read at speed certainly helps to keep up but reading like that is more about enjoyment, I don't particularly think about reading fast or slow.

I do read a lot but not quite at that speed.

35 days, 2 hours a day. Seems pretty accurate, it didn't take me long to get through last time I had a re-read.

Also, anyone else annoyed that the book series is referred to as 'Game of Thrones', rather than the proper name of A Song of Ice and Fire?

You could read the entire Game of Thrones collection in 311 days.

I selected 20 minutes per day, purely because I don't enjoy reading books.

I read the whole GOT series in about a month while I was unemployed. I don't think I read fast either. I just had a lot of time to read.
