Real game like OGame?

I am wondering if there is a game that is more about exploring, empire building, trade etc.... than pure RTS. Was just trying Sins of a Solar Empire demo and this seems more RTS than building and exploring.
 
Star Trek Birth of the Federation / Masters of Orion games i hear are good / Galactic Civ 2 / Sins of a Solar Empire / Imperial Galactica 2 / Civ 4 / Space Colony (gona try this soon myself)
 
I was thinking of Startopia as well, it's more like theme hospital in space if anything but it's worth a play, you can pick it up very cheaply.
 
Yea I checked out YouTube for Startopia, its a bit too small scale :( Thats why I really want OGame but a proper game. You build/manage a galactic empire that has a little bit of combat but it doesnt revolve around RTS style game play.

Has no one made a game like this :(
 
I can only really re-suggest Galciv2 -- you build and manage a galactic empire, maybe a little more combat than a little, but can be won via other means than just destroying anything that moves.

A new expansion for it called Twilight of the Arnor is about to be released, would recommend checking it out ^_^
 
3 games come to mind all oldies but very good

Master of Orion 2 - ive lost count of the number of hours ive wasted playing this (forget 3 its a pile of steaming......)

Stars 2 - never really got into this but its massive, dunno might even be a newer version out there

Pax imperia - its ok, its real time unlike the others that are turn based.
