really annoying crashes and I have no idea what causes them..

Your power draw wont be anywhere near 668, more like 400, tops, unless its an old and dying PSU I very much doubt that is the issue. Whilst your card is factory OC'd, that doesnt guarantee its entirely stable, as I say throttle it back a bit, set it to default speeds. The artefacting in particular points towards gfx cad issues, added the crashes are only in stressful games I strongly suspect that is your source
Another thing you could try is adjusting your PCI-E freq, if this doesnt work, try setting it to 101 or 105, 100 whilst default can sometimes cause issues itself - this is less likely than the OC being the source

Okay mate ty for the advice I will try this..

Noob question here but how do i remove the overclock on my graphics card? :)

Yes I have had this happen too with the freezing and resuming on ctrl+alt+del... I do overclock but have tried it with the default settings and I still get the problem :/

so do there's no chances to get rid of this problem?
can it be gtx280 is faulty?

I doubt very much its lack of power from your psu, 625w is more than enough to run your pc with 1 x 280 gtx gfx card (unless it's faulty ).
I would say its somthing to do with your gfx card tbh what sort of temps are you getting idle and under load maybe overheating ? , not had a 280 myself but have heard that ppl have had problems with them overheating. not used riva tunner for a while but if i remember there is a fan control on it , you might be able to up the fan speed to keep the card cooler .
worth eliminating all routes before you have to buy new parts

I havent checked temps in a few weeks but I know it was less than 80 degrees on the video card.. dont remember what temp exactly..

Edit: Rivatuner has a temperature monitoring thing built in so i checked that.. 58 degrees idle up to 79 degrees playing dow2 for 10 mins..

Default clocks on my card are 666 core and 1188 for the memory.. will try and drop em down a tad..

it sounds pretty high imo, but im running at 40 idle 60 max too on a 8800gt, pumping the fan speed % up is a good idea, or adding case fans, ive got one directly below the gfx card, in the pci slot area pushed up right against the back of the pc, sucking the air out.
can never get too cool!

Well as a small update..

I ran memtest, which returned no errors..

I contacted BFG who think the video card is faulty and had me RMA it yesterday.. Their RMA place is less than 20 miles away from where I live, but i understand they ship a replacement from the states, which seems odd.. So sent it to them by post.. they had it today, so heres hoping something comes back soon and fixes my problem :)
