Ok I am having some grief with my USB headset, its a speedlink medusa 5.1
Now every so often it has a hissy fit where I can either listen through the headphones but the microphone does not work, or I can speak through the mic but the sound is totally disabled and i can hear absolutly nothing through the headphones. This is really irritating for me as a gamer.
Anyway to fix this I just unplugged it, and then plugged it into a different USB port, thus causing it to show up as a new USB sound device(2) then sound device (3) etc. Anyway I have now totally exhausted ALL the USB ports on my machine and it no longer works in any of them, (I think i made it up to USB sound device (10) or something). Anyway is there a way to make windows forget that I have had this device plugged in previously or anybody have experience of this kind of thing that can suggest a solution.
Really tempted to just throw the dam thing away and get a PCI sound card and a non USB headset
