Ok guys, this is freakin insane! A month or two ago I fried my motherboard at first I thought my PSU had dies because of the slight burning smell I could smell. So I replaced my PSU with a corsair 600w gaming PSU. I tried to turn my pc on when I installed it to no avail. So then I thought it must be my board then right? So I bought a new one and that didn't work either! So then I thought my CPU must be dead.....you can gues what I did...I bought a new one (intel i5 3570k). So u might understand how angry I atm lol. But yeah, New psu, motherboard (asrock h61m-vs) and an Intel i5 and my pc still shows no sign of life what so ever. So Idk what to do :/ I really need some help. The only thing I can think of is that I haven't put the wires that say (pw led, HDD led etc) in the right way round. Iv never actually known where what goes with those wires in my last case I put them in my board randomly but my mono had a power button and that worked. But this board is cheap and doesn't have a power button. So maybe the power wire isn't connected to the power button on my case?? I don't even know. Tbh I'm a noob with all this.

Oh and btw I would check my manual for the board I have atm but iv lost it and I tried going on asrocks site to download it but its not letting me on my phone so that's a huge bummer

Ps sorry for dragging on and on and on lol

Surely the power leads goes to where it says pwr on the board? They normally have it in small text next to the pins.

Also am I reading it right from above that you just used the power button on your motherboard to turn your PC on each time?

LOOK AT THE MOBO MANUEL, you are wasting your money, do you still have the other CPU? if you do then it will probably work

Also that board may not support the ivybridge CPU's when unless it's updated

I bought the CPU used for 160 and its 2 weeks old and I tried my old CPU too....still doesbt work and I said iv lost my manual and I can't read it on my phone cause its not letting me access the page. And you're correct I used to turn my pc on via mobo

Also there's no text on the board to say where each one goes I just double checked

Why did you buy new ones? RMA? Return?

thats not going to help his main issue...

you can download the manual from the manafacturers web site...

^^^ i think thats your problem...

usually it will say RST, PWR HDD in small writing by the pins... if may be you have broken the power button, you can short the pwr pint with a jumper (but only for a sec or it will turn on and back off again)... personally I jam a screw driver over all the pins when I cannto be bothered to work out whats what and I am testing.. HOWEVER id not suggest anyone else did that...

as long as you have the correct block of pins you are not going to do any dammage if you accidently short the wrong two pins (well I ahve installed 100's and never broken one in that way)

I will post a pic for you :)
Do yo ustill have your old CPU?

Yeah, must have been. I can't actually describe how relieved I am now because I also ordered a hd 7850 last night thinking it would definitely work after I bought the i5 3570k I'm going to try my i5 2400 later and see if that works. If it does ill just sell it or give it to my brother. I'm going to save up for a z77 board now so I can oc my the bad boy. Thanks again :)

Yeah, I could do. And I know, atm I have a coolmaster tx3 cooler but I don't think that's going to be good enough to keep it cool. Anyway iv hit a brick wall as no there's no image on my monitor. I'm using a gtx 560ti plugged in with a dvi to hdmi cable

It's the Ivybridge CPU in a older board, will need a bios update, put in your i5 2400 and it may work, if not then try the ram in different slots (1 in a slot etc)
