Ok... this is a bit of a mouthful but I am BAFFLED at this issue.

For the last 2 months or so I've had a problem with my friends list where my friends gamerpics and info would load in one by one slowly. It would take a good 10secs to load in the first 6 pics, then you'd scroll down and there would be white squares for the next ones, so you wait for those to load in. That happens to every picture on my friends list and the thing is when you've scrolled down and loaded in new ones, then scroll back up your friends list the ones you just loaded would be gone and need to load in again. Its a real eyesore. I should also mention it takes a while to load in friends avatars on the avatar friends list too.

Anyway this hasn't always happened and I've only just noticed it over the last 6-8 weeks and put it down to my net getting info from XBL slowly. Today though I decided I would plug in a 5 year old premium console, update it and what not, download 2 of my profiles just to make sure it was the internet, surely if it was then the problem would occur on this console too.

Amazingly on both profiles on the old console friends gamerpics load in instantly every single time, and avatars load a million times fast too. It doesnt matter how far you scroll down or up the friends gamerpics are there instantly, just as it should be like all my friends consoles are.

I need help making sense on this. What's caused my 250gb slim model to get stuff from xbl so slowly? I fully expected this to be a problem with my net but obviously not when I just change the ethernet cable over to my other console and turn it on and it works just as it should.

Someone please tell me what could be causing my slim model to be acting this way, is it possible the network card in the new 360 could be dodgy? Its the only thing I can think of :/

Would my hdd effect it in anyway?

Downloads from marketplace are around the same speed on both consoles. Just seems to be things that the consoles stream in.

Just anyone shine some light on why this is happening so I can do something about it, lol >_<

Try performing maintenance on the hard drive, google it, there used to be a code you had to enter but I believe there is an option you can select in memory options now, it deletes all the temporary files you hard drive collects over the years and can improve speed on some things

Clearing the cashe doesn't have any effect unfortunately :(

Can't really format the HDD as I have nowhere to transfer all my files too.
