ok, so i need to copy files from my old IDE drive to my new SATA drive, does this mean that any fragmented files will keep fragmented? or will they sort themselves out as they copy over? -Dan
Suppose it depends how you do it - simply using the ol' windows copy will write the files individually which *should* mean they are automatically defragged! Never quite sure what to expect from Bill though - let us know!
that's what i thought would happen, like amking an image of a CD generally means you get rid of any scratches that WMP would pick up, i'll give it a go and will tell you tomorrow. -Dan
