Really weird problem with Safecom Modem/Router

I'm encountering a really bizarre problem with my new Bulldog connection. If I plug in the provided speedtouch modem, everything works great but as it is only a single port router I would like to use my existing safecom ADSL2+ router. With the safecom, some websites work ok but others such as hotmail and microsoft do not load at all. I was able to access all of them perfectly when I was on my old ISP. Just for good measure I cleared the safecom's settings and flushed the dns cache on my pc. Any ideas?

I've tried setting the DNS servers manually in windows but it hasn't helped. Having no issues with OCUK or most other .co.uk sites strangely enough. If I switch back to the speedtouch, everything's fine.

Tried setting your MTU value to be in-line with Bulldog's network?

You've hit the nail on the head. The default value for the safecom router is 1500. tried changing it to 1492 and 1200 -neither helped. any idea what the correct value is? I cant find any way to read it from the speedtouch.

am sure there are ways of finding it out via websites or pings...

but ultimately call bulldog... yea i know.... can be there for a while...

bulldog support forums?

adsl guide?

without being a customer i wouldn't know sorry.
