I have clocked my E6420 to 3.2GHZ, Orthos stable. When i restart my pc though my pc beeps 4 times before it boots up and sometimes it dosent boot up at all, so not sure why it is doing that?
Ok thanks guys, yeah it is only when the system is overclocked, i probally just have to up the volts up a bit more but no biggy.
A couple of other things though, a coiuple of days i got the system i started to overclock it and it wouldent get past 420, then a few days after i tried it again exactly the same settings but then it booted into windows, any ideas?
And when running Orthos which test should you do, Blend that tests the Memory and CPU or just the one that tests the CPU?
One more thing when clocking the GPU is it better to raise the PCI-E Frequency in the bios or clocking it in windows using a program?
One last thing am i right in thinking that the Nvidia chipset boards can run the Memory unlinked from the FSB?
upping the pci-e frequency isn't really clocking your gpu mate, some people say (me included) say upping it to 105mhz will yield ever so slight performance increase, and also helps your CPU clock..
Over clock the gpu in windows, easy, and effective
