anyone got one of these cards? seems to be cheapo at 6 quid. im guessing worth a punt at that price, do they hit the speed and are stable and reliable?
Id be using it in windows only.

Well iv had these 2.5gb cards in 2 computers for a few days now and no issues. Today the cheapo 2.5gb switch arrived and it's working great. Gone from average 110megabytes per second network transfer to 263megabytes per second. This gives the much needed boost I was after.
Very happy so far. Will get pics up later

I made a mistake I should have bought one more of these 2.5g cards for my n40l micro server when they were cheap. Will wait for next Ali sale and grab one. Can put micro server back to use then with faster transfers

Never had a major issue with them. But don't stress too hard. AQ107 10gbit cards have given me far more problems.

Are these the red ones? Looks like they have red anodized heat sinks.
Yes I have the red ones.
They have a small thermal pad under the heatsink which I swapped out for mx4 paste.
Put terabytes through them and no issues. Just use the latest driver on realtek website.
Been a few months now and not had a single drop out or issue with them. They are a fit and forget item same with the switch well worth the money.

I'm also after some cheapo switch, Cyber-Mav mentioned he got some elcheapo switch maybe he can chime in for the model he got.

Yes all rock solid. Switch was the cheapest 4x2.5g+2xsfp I could get on Ali, they come in various colours and design but all use the same realtek chip. I just used the old power adapter which I had lying around from a old router it's 12v 1a barrel jack which fits fine, it's the heavy linear type one. Stock one was mega tiny and had a euro connector on it. I'm sure it works but can't be asked to buy a converter for it

Did you get the 4 port or the 8 port?
The 4 port is less than 20 and the 8 is 27, good price if working no problem.
