realtek and bf3...

theres defo a problem with it for me..every thing is upto date..

TBH for 23 quid i think a sound card is a nice little upgrade, ill also probably buy a decent 5.1 headset aswell ive got a half tidy set of turtle beach's now...
 
well just installed the sound card and ive just played 5 rounds of bf3 mp with no hardloacks i did have 1 crash between games but was able to kill the process to get out..

so fingers crossed this has fixed my hard lock problems..

i gotta say wish id of bought a sound card earlier what a difference bf3 now sound awesome even more so when its on war tapes...
 
realtek hd audio is fine for me with no bf3 crashes
driver 6.0.1.6167
atm i have it set to
24bits, 44100hz (studio quality)
(from some skyrim bug before they patched)

try those drivers and with that sound quality selected
Are you choosing to install the nvidia HD audio driver that also comes bundled with the gfx drivers? I always de-select that option.

yep all was upto date and i never installed the nvidia audio drivers..

there was just a issue with it but it looks like the sound card has sorted it, there loads of peeps with this problem happened in bc2 aswell.

im so glad i got the sound card now anyway...
 
I went for the xonar card and today i sent it back for a refund since i found out that my case is not big enough to accommodate 2 gpus and a sound card :(.
 
yeah mine wouldnt of fitted either but ive took 1 of my 580s out as i really dont need 580 sli theres only bf3 that uses both to max.


ive got a antec df-85 as well and it a big case...
 
I have got cooler master HAF 922. Pretty big case but mobo layout and the fact 2 cards take up 4 slots, im only left with 1 pci-e slot right above the psu. I thought of removing one of the 5850s but it is far too bigger performance hit for me.

May b i could go for a pci-e slot sound card but im guessing those will be expensive oh well...
 
I did try however to run both cards and the sound card together but it meant my psu was out of the case and on the table, ran it for a day and thought for a £20 sound card this is plain stupid so out went the sound card.
