Hi all wonder if anyone has come across this. My pc is pretty old now and i use it as a hcpc its a msi neo 3 p45 board anyway i did a few updates including windows update must have been 30 or so it updated and booted but my desktop was the vanilla fresh install desktop..panic! re boot and it was ok again. i noticed the internet icon had a red cross saying it was not working yet i had internet access when i tried to view the adapter nothing showing it was blank i could not see any of the adapter settings etc it was gone ! Anyway i downloaded latest lan driver for my board and chipset uninstalled driver tried re-install and its coming up with an error windows cannot install the device error code 31. I have tried allsorts but have no internet access now. Any ideas guys ?
I do try to make backups but unfortunately not regular enough i have a ssd drive which i cloned windows too about 6months ago so to eliminate hardware being broken i managed to get the backup drive working and the internet connection was fine. The trouble is i really dont want to use it as its old and i have new stuff installed now so any ideas on how i could fix this. Help appreciated.
