Realtek HD audio surround sound not working.

I got an Abit IP35-E a couple of months ago and I'm having some problems getting surround sound from the onboard audio to work.

I've set thing up in the audio manager and the surround sound works through its own tests. However, games, movies, ect aren't giving me surround sound when set.

Any ideas?

If you're in XP, go to control panel, sounds and audio devices (classic mode) -> In speaker settings click the "advanced" button, make sure the speaker setup is to 5.1 or 7.1 depending on your system.

Have that set to 5.1 surround sound so that's not causing the problem. =/

Check the output device in the test and make its the same in your applications

Double check if they are using digital outputs or analog ones.
