Rear ended yesterday :(

Do you have something against people using insurance for it purpose or something, or are you just trolling for the sake of it?

The purpose of insurance has been twisted by the prevelence of ambulance chasing personal injury lawyers and the fact everyone knows you cannot prove whiplash isn't there.

Insurance is there to ensure that if you cause an accident in your car, the innocent parties costs are paid for. It is not there to buy the innocent party a new 50" TV and an upgrade to the car they were driving through a huge wadge of whippy comp, but this sort of thing is becoming more and more common.

Elsewhere in Europe rules exist to stop this sort of thing. Not so here, where the first thing many think after an accident is 'How much can I get out of this?'.

No I'm being honest, why are people contacting solicitors the day after an accident? How can you think about a compensation claim before you even know if you have a serious injury?

Because part of the process is to establish whether you have a serious injury?

After my accident, I was sent to Physio the following week and it worked bloody wonders. Not only did she manage to free up my restricted arm and neck movement a fair bit, but she also managed to give me some tips on relieving the pins and needles I was getting.

Yay whippy compo!

I thought this was meant to help with lost earnings and physio yet you have an accident and are a bit stiff so you're wasting A&Es time and onto the solicitor within hours.

It's bonkers the way this industry is going.

Pro tip, try some paracetamol, add a bit of ibuprofen, probably set you back 50p for a weeks worth, see if it gets better in a day or two. If it does don't turn up to A&E looking like a tool and rip off a stupid whippy claim.

No offence but in the OPs case your "advice" is rubbish. He had blurring in the eye, when it comes to sight a doctor will always say it's better to be safe than sorry, a delay could potentially lead to loss of sight. So yes, he was absolutely right to go to A&E. If you somehow don't think the accident could have made him lose sight then just think, gordon brown lost part of his sight playing rugby. So don't go giving rubbish medical advice in the future.

Although I don't disagree about claiming on insurance :p
