Rear fingerprint scanners

Seems that the fingerprint scanner was in a poor place on the S8 which is why they changed it for the S9.
Personally I prefer it on the back. It's in a perfect position on the OP6.

Back is some where between 1000 - infinity times better than the front, but when done properly

I unlock my phone when it's in my pocket as I'm picking it out as my finger finds the spot and it's ready to go by the time it's pointing towards my face. On the front its be impossible to do and require that extra step (as well as possibly my other hand) to unlock it.

Having it recessed is also so much easier to find it and bingo its unlocked. You can't recess it on the front

I have an LG V20 - wouldn't change the fingerprint scanner to the front at all given an option

AS a long term iPhone user I was concerned swapping to a phone with the reader on the back but aside from wanting to unlock my phone when its on my desk, having it on the back is no issue and feels perfectly natural.

Note 8 user, having the right case can help locate your finger first time every time to unlocking so there is no trial and error each time. most spigen cases have a raised area to the side of the sensor which I think helps greatly.
