Rear pads making moise?

Rear pads making noise?

Just thought I'd ask here for advice and info, when I reverse in my Accord the rear brake pads make quite a loud screeching noise, it's been doing this for quite some time. I've checked the pads which look like they've got at least a few k miles on them.

Any ideas on this, also as my driveway in on an incline when reversing onto my drive the rear pads seem to screech even louder but that could just be in my head

Its probably the wear indicator, mine are designed to screech when they need replacing

Would they only make this noise in reverse then?

The rear brakes are still used in normal breaking, just only a bit

I am probably making this up but I saw a horse with a beak.

I also am probably making this up: Is it not some peculiarity with rear discs that the pads may not fully disengage when going in reverse and so make contact slightly? As I say, I may be making this up, and Google will probably help clarify my lying ways.
