Rear view mirror

My rear view mirror has fallen off, any tips for gluing it back onto the windscreen.

Ideally what glue to use and how to keep it there while the glue sets.

In my experience, there are differing methods for different cars. What ties them all together is that none of them work.

If all else fails then Araldite will succeed, nothing budges that stuff

I had no idea it would be so bloomin obvious, have you tried it?

another vote for araldite, I have used mirror pads and specific mirror glue in the past and both failed.

Not loctite but a some other brand a few years ago. Did the job and was still holding a year later when i sold the car.

Clean the glass with acetone or nail varnish remover before sticking it back on aswell

Superglue, lots of it

You need to properly clean the glass and mirror first though, otherwise it will fall off again in a few days

Happened to me. I have an autoglass centre local, so I drove in, the guy stuck it back on with sticky pads within 30 seconds for free. 1 year later and it's held strong.

This, can't stress enough how important removing all traces of previous gunk is.
