Mmm. I'm amused at the idea that the software people even use is somehow a factor that effects how creative you can be. F that. There's a lot of opinions here, but little substance (ie music) to back it up.

It doesn't matter what prog / software you use, as long as you find a way to get you want 'down'

Software, or lack of it does not restrict creativity.

Have fun! :)

Um, dude no one suggested that the software people use effects how creative you can be. did you read these posts? we were talking about personal preferences based on our own recording experiences and in no way intended to deride the OP for using his choice of software.

So get off your high horse

Since we are sharing our attempts i though i'd embarrass myself by posting these. Both done in Garageband with only its internal sounds. I am thinking about buying an MBox2 which comes bundled with Pro Tools 7 LE and will allow me to plug in my synths and guitar to the Mac. Both of the tunes are full of timing errors mainly down to my useless playing. Both took around an hour to complete, and actually were really just done to play around with Garageband. Im never really going to make a musician, but its as much about the fun of creating something than anything else.

Sorry about that post :) Didn't mean offense, I'd stubbed my toe and was in a bad mood.

I take it all back.

You can use a variety of things to play MIDI into reason, one of these things is your humble computer keyboard. Do a search for it...
