I recently played Rebel Galaxy after it was given away via Epic Games and quite liked the more naval battle style of combat but this does look quite different with the first person view etc.

I was intrigued by the video at 11:03 where it says you can go to a bar when you land and play a full game of pool.

Reading there page its Epic for 13th Aug then next year Steam. Also going to be moddable.

This looks pretty interesting, I'm a fan of space-sim style games and Elite has become a bit stale.

I enjoyed the first game although I never did complete it. The music was great and really set the atmosphere. Have been watching a little of this and I'm very tempted.

I couldn't get into it.

The fixed horizontal plane killed it for me.

Terrible design decision.

It has a long way to go before it matches Steam in functionality, but it's just like any other launcher.

Personally, I will never understand the pro Valve teenage angst some are displaying with regards to EGS. It's childish, and has some rather cult like behaviour behind it.

Got more than enough games already without buying more, had it been VR I might have been tempted but as it's not, I wont. Simple.
