Rebel Galaxy Outlaw

It's games like this that make me happy I have an ultrawide monitor.

Space in 3440x1440 looks glorious.

I get totally opposite impression to you Quartz, it feels like a proper retro PC freelancer !!

It recognises 21:9 ultrawide out the box, it recognised my Thrustmaster Hotas with no problems complete with custom settings. I run a two screen setup and it launched without hiccups.

It looks polished, runs silky smooth and very easy to navigate through the screens/UI.

Don't forget they are allowing MODS so things like FOV and other stuff will be sorted.

What's it like with the Hotas?

I have the same model.

I notice the game recommends the gamepad which it plays well with, but I have an itching to use the TM for more immersion. :)

The first rust bucket of a ship you get handles like a slippy zimmer frame so it's a little bit tricky dogfighting.

I'll try the PS4 controller to see if it's much difference.

I've been looking forward to this since I seen the preview video some months back, infact I reinstalled Freelancer with some mods and really enjoyed it, brought back some fond memorys.

I do hope its similar to Freelancer and has a long game play like Freelancer has.

First thoughts. The UI I do not like, feels old, clunky and strange. They chuck you in at the deep end... no training. Pretty enough game that I need to put more time into. Oh, no issues with my settings, all running at ultra at 2560x1440.

I don't find the UI particularly clanky with a controller, but with regards to piloting the ship, it took me a while to work out how to control it - And most of that was having to pause it and look at the default controller bindings.

But then again the old Privateer game from the 90's didn't have training either, and it's only a 5 man team.

Nice one VincentHanna, watched the video and its just what I needed. :) Will get my controller out this evening. ;)

Yeh, thanks Vince, good video.

I've selected the old skool mode and loving it!

Every credit earned is a struggle and getting my behind handed to me at the moment, just the way it should be :D

How do you change the resolution ? I'm stuck on 1080 windows screen! Can't get the game in run in Full screen mode ? Checked scaling and its all standard at 100% so not sure how to get around this

Ok I've sorted the issue ! if anyone has screen or boardless problems stick this in the windows search Box - %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Double Damage Games\RebelGalaxyOutlaw\ & Then go in to the local settings folder and change the fullscreen from 0 to 1 :)

Why do you need to do this?

Just adjust the settings on the launcher screen, along with all the other graphical settings.
