What I find disturbing is that on a forum like OCUK 55% of people support the intervention, i mean war.

I thought people on this forum were suppose to be smart.

You and Dirtydog seem to be quite confused on the issue. There were no lies spun, it was very clear from the outset that NATO wanted regime change and were going to provide every bit of support to the NTC forces on the ground to see that happen; what they weren't going to do and were upfront about it was do this directly themselves. It was either the NTC getting it done or it not happening at all.

But luckily enough bombing the **** out of every bit of hardware Gaddafi had at his disposal turned out to be pretty damn effective at allowing the NTC to achieve this.

I support it and still do; I knew from the start the goal was the dismantling of the Gaddafi government and I seriously doubt anyone else supporting it was under the illusion it was anything but.

No offence but you appear to be a little gullible.

Oh yes these crimes against humanity for which there is no evidence and which our leaders said he did - and of course our leaders never lie. It isn't as if our leaders have a long and undistinguished record of lying repeatedly.

gullible and naive (not allowed too kill gaddafi) <<lol :D

Bombing a compound is not assassination. Neither is it a 'suprise attack'.

Had a special forces soldier snuck into his room at night, slit his throat and left unseen, that would be assassination. Him being killed in a bombing run is him being killed in a bombing run, not an assassination. An assassination is a specific act with specific meaning.

Could always carpet bomb the area with nuclear weapons, that'll get him.

They are intending to kill, and let's call a spade a spade, MURDER, Gaddafi.

Whether you want to call it assassination or not, it amounts to the same thing. Intentional, deliberate KILLING of Gaddafi.

Unless you have some sort of unique inside information the rest of us don't, then I don't see how you can say that. I don't think the bombing is specifically aimed at killing Gadaffi, infact I am sure they would much rather parade him, alive, in front of the media at The Hague than simply allow him to die a martyr.

They are trying to murder him, this is self evident.

He clearly doesn't though which is why he isn't dead despite months of bombing. Either NATO are completely inept or they are not bombing in order to kill him, but bombing for another reason.
They might not know quite where he is. But it is beyond question that they are trying to murder him.

theres evidence of crimes agains humanity by the rebels....

the use of children under the age of 15 is a warcrime yet we all saw the pictures on skynews of the teenage kids who were said to be 14-15 by the sky news reporter... they clearly all had guns and we were told they were defending prisoners in a classroom which is what we saw.

theres a lot of other reported war crimes about the rebels from the same humanity groups who were also saying gaddafi was commiting war crimes.

its messed up that all our goverment just ignore any rebel was crimes whikle condeming gaddafi for doing the exact same thing..

civilians in sirte dont matter either the situation is pretty much reversed the rebels were closing in on sirte yet nato bombs a path for them and even bombs locations in sirte how ****** up is that
