Hi,

Bit of a story but the end result is the above message when booting from my RAID 0 SSD set up that has been working perfectly and was 30 mins ago!

Setup: -
2 * OCZ 60Gb SSD's in a 90Gb RAID 0 as boot drive
1 * Seagate 500Gb data drive
1 * WD Cavair 500Gb data drive
Asus P8P67 PRO Intel P67 Mobo

I added the WD drive today and went to set this up in RAID 0 with the Seagate drive through the Intel RAID controller using CTRL-I from boot.

Created the volume no worries. Reboot = no boot.

Thought that might have been because the BIOS had changed the boot order for some reason but that was still all set to SSD_RAID0.

Tried a cold boot and same again.

Went in to the CTRL-I utility and deleted the HDD RAID volume and reboot = Joy in to windows.

I set the volume up again and rebooted to the above message again.

Deleted the volume and still the same rather than a successful boot.

I have now disconnected the two HDD's but still getting the message.

It's like the boot record has disappeared!

Any help that would save me doing a reinstall would be greatly received.

Regards,

Simpic

The boot information was probably on the seagate drive and when you messed about with different RAID configs it got deleted. You'll have to reinstall windows, leave the HDD disconnected to until after you're done with this so windows doe'snt fart about and install any boot information not on the SSD.

Got it sorted after a lot of searching and trying things out!

It would appear that the SSD RAID 0 partition somehow changed from the 'Active' status. Hence the message about select a proper boot device.

Booted from the WIN7 DVD in to recovery mode and opened a command promt and used DISKMGR to activate the partition again.

Then you get the missing boot manager message which again can be fixed from the recovery console on the WIN7 DVD.

All boots up fine now and I have created the additional HHD RAID 0 from the Intel RST GUI rather than the BIOS.

All sorted!

Phew!
