Reccomend me a quiet fast hard drive.

I need a new HD, and am looking for something fast and quiet. I want a SATA 2 drive, I would also like it to be a cool runner and not knock out ridiculous heat like my maxtor.

Liking the look of the Western Digital caviars...

If you are after a 250gb drive then i would advise the WD aaks 250gb, very fast drive.

'wd2500aaks' on uk google for more info.

Samsung P120, very quiet and reasonable performance!

I cant really afford to spend too much at the mo, so just decided to get another 250gig as its cheaper. I will look at those drives thanks guys.

But then i can hardly hear my raptor either

The current Maxtor 250 gig sata is very loud. If I ordered a Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB ST3320620AS SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM

Would I get one of the quiet ones, using the pink glue? does anyone know? :confused:

I've heard samsung are quiet but slower, I never owned a samsung before. I have allways liked WD/Seagate.

i've spec'd 2 similar spec'd pcs for myself and my mate, with the only difference being a samsung spinpoint 320gb and a wd aaks 320gb, did i notice any speed difference? not at all.

Could anyone tell me if the Samsung SpinPoint P HD080HJ 80GB hard drives are the same as the Samsung SpinPoint P SP2504C 250GB for speed and quietness.

I'm thinking of getting two of these and putting them together to get more speed, would it make much difference or is it better to get just one 160GB drive?
