Expecting to get my Nano sometime next week :D

Was wondering, to get ready for it, what peice of software i should use. I have had a play with Itunes 7 and anapod along with tag and rename.

to be honest itunes and anapod both aren't perfect, was wondering what you guys use.

anapod - had a few issues with album art ??

itunes - used very little seems ok but according to you guys it's pretty bad.

No it isn't - it does what it says on the tin.
At christmas I taught two teenage females how to use I-Tunes in 5 minutes flat and then I showed them how to use ID3-Tagit to make life easier (Tag before you use I-Tunes).
I then taught my 71 year old Dad how to use it although it took about 10 minutes with him.
I use Anapod.

Edit - Turn off the syncing bits in I-Tunes and do all your own transferring.
Many people lose everything by turning sync on.

Cheers that's also one thing that put me off, when i once accidently wiped all my sister's songs ! :p

To be fair it does pop up a warning if you try to auto-sync someone else's iPod to let you know everything will get replaced.

How can u wipe all your songs with and iPod and iTunes? As I have only just started using both and would like to avoid that scenario

Also in iTunes where it tells you the capacity of your iPod a the the bottom, what does "Other" refer to?

Just turn all the syncing features off.
I've seen that many complaints on the web that I just know this advice to be true.

could i just double check with you where this option is, i plugged my sister's ipod in and under the ipod settings, there is indivdual settings for music video etc. and a sync tick box, assuming it is that ??

Also is it possible and easily to have itunes installed on 2 different pc's ??

I think that is where the problem with auto-sync would be, using 2 computers +iTunes and an iPod. Surely auto-sync with only 1 PC is safe  Been using it this way for over a week, and its working great.

Also can anyone answer my above question about what "other" refers to? Is it just album art? Because I fail to see how I have a 100MB of album art

Also is there a way to get iTunes to rescan directories and delete files from disk as well as from its own list?
