Just looking at what is worth a look at as I picked up an old imac for use as an internet PC to stick in the living room.

It's oly running 10.1 as it's only a 350Mhz G3.

Anyway what's worth a quick look at? (that will actually run on this old version bearing the slow CPU in mind)

Thanks

Well, considering a mac is at least as versatile as any pc, what would you want to do with it? Coming from a *nix background I would be tempted to suggest sticking mysql / php / python / ruby etc. on there and using it as a dev server. :)

I was looking for in terms of useful apps (browser, office and such like)

In general it's a living room PC for anyone to use for browsing the net, listening to music (ideally some sort of MP3 player would be nice if/when I work out how to connect to network shares) email and not much else.

I've already got a box with linux on (to be joined by a second once I set it up tonight) for server stuff.

You're not going to run much tbh....

X.1 is loads behind.

We are now OSX.4 (Tiger) and most stuff requires 10.3 at least...
