Hi guys,

I purchased a Huwaei GT2E watch from Amazon Warehouse for £68, it arrived yesterday but the product box was completely empty, not even a manual.

I contacted Amazon and they started an investigation, which they said will take 3 days. I'm already annoyed because they said the box was recorded as correct weight.

If you take the box it is quite hefty and it fooled me as I was opening it as it really felt like there was a product inside until I opened it. I can almost guarantee a complete proudct box and an empty one would weigh roughly the same as the watch woudn't weigh much at all.

Some tramp has obviously just nabbed the watch and returned it to amazon and the returns team haven't even opened the box to see if the watch was in there.

What are my options if they try and withold refund? I'm bloody fuming.

For the sake of £68, I'm pretty sure they'll just refund you pretty quickly - Amazon has always been really good for stuff like that, (for me anyway)

In the unlikely event they don't, just mention the words 'consumer ombudsman' to them, and they'll almost certainly refund immediately.

Thanks buddy, will mention that if they try it.

I've checked the box and it says weight 0.3kg and I've taken a picture of what I received on the scales also says bang on 300grams. I have no doubt a box with the watch, cable, manual etc will be just over 300 grams.

I will be recording the opening every single thing I order from now on.

It happens in the Amazon warehouse. They sack people all the time for thieving. This was the one in Luton, so you can imagine what many of the employees were like.

Yeh thinking a warehouse employee nabbed it.

Just traced the delivery back and it came from East London warehouse...lol.

I bet Amazon do get a lot scammers claiming to have not received items as well. It's pretty shoddy all round.

No doubt that happens a lot too and it's wrong! But this whole sending back empty boxes or stealing from a warehouse item ends up screwing over an innocent customer.

Just gets better and better. Amazon refusing to refund and asking for police report numbers. On the phone to the police now, what a load of ****. Really don't want to be wasting police time with this but I'm out £70 because of some amazon warehouse tramp.

So I've been getting the run around with the cops, saying that they can't really prove a theft has happened so I need to contact Amazon back and get them to investigate their warehouse as they will know far more than the cops will.

I've told them at Amazon and also cc'd [email protected] in the email. That must have put the shitz up someone at the customer service because they are now completely different, apologizing and offering refund now. Will see if it goes through !

They're all basically back in their van with the parcel on the doorstep by the time you answer these days.
This guy certainly was, he was already driving off by the time I got to the door. No one hangs around any more, can't remember the last time I signed for something. I'm gonna back off from using Amazon after this incident, really can't be dealing with this **** again.

Bloody hell. The refund still didn't come through and had another email from them saying that they still couldn't replace or refund and I need to go to the cops.

The cops wouldn't crime the incident so i couldn't get a reference for a crime report that amazon required.

Phoned again and spoke to a lovely Irish girl, I explained everything and told her I have spent the better part of a week sorting this out, I'm a Nurse in the NHS in London and stressed to the eyeballs and have wasted so much time on this so she sorted it out and gave me a refund finally!

I am done with Amazon ordering, this incident will save me a lot of money in the long run.
