edges of the cardboard smashed in as if it had been thrown around or dropped from a height. Now when I shake, or turn the xbox 360 SLIM upside or turn it sideways I hear some sort of clicking as if there is something loose. If you guys could do me this one and only favour and shake your xbox 360 slims or turn them upside down or sideaways and listen carefully to any loose objects inside or something else.

It works perfectly though, do you think I should return it to Tesco and get another one?

I had mine delivered on Wednesday and noticed a very slight rattle when I got it out of its box.

I googled it and it seems is a sensor the guys here have said about.

If the console works fine and there is no marks or scratches on the unit itself, tbh I wouldn't care what the box looked like. Its just a box after all.

The rattling inside is just the tilt sensor as mentioned. Hear it all the time on my "old" Premium 360.

Only problem with a bashed box is if you collect all your bought consoles over the years and store them away when you move on to the next generation and like your gaming systems complete and unmarked. If you don't care about collecting and just sell them on when you move to next gen then who cares about a box? so long as everything works 100%.

If it just sounds like an inch of movement rattle its the tilt sensor as stated already. If it runs the length of the console then its f'd

It's still build better than the xbox tbh. Having stripped down an xbox and a ps3 you can tell which firm has made it's money in hardware.
