Fwiw I agree with some of his post ref the moderation, but it’s OCUK’s bat & ball and ultimately up to them/mods to keep things in check whether we agree with their decision or not.

Amen brother, the 2 week hiatus on Sneering Consensus access was a blessing. Not posted in there since and can't say I miss it.
Maybe post them in the appropriate thread, making an appropriate point and they'll stand half a chance of being left alone - at which point you might start to understand it's not so much what you're posting but the way (and where) you're posting it.
All ranting at the mods in this thread is going to get you is a suspension in the end.
The sad thing is this is basically correct - if his original post had the facts and figures that he posted in here (where they aren't in any way welcome of relevant), there wouldn't have been an issue.

What do you expect from SC, anywhere that sticks the label of 'only for intelligent discussion' is going to attract all the Dunning-Krugers far and wide. It's like that video where they're asked to blindly rank themselves by what they think their IQ is and the one that was just above average managed to bully herself into being ranked first (or close to) - the look on her face when it was revealed. Priceless.
The above comment is a bit tongue in cheek, you do get some good discussions there. The thing I hate the most on this forum though is that personal attacks aren't allowed. And people will thinly disguise it by replying to a post, and taking the jist of that post and implying things like: "People who hold <x> opinion are complete morons/mouthbreathers" etc. If they just said "You're a moron" it'd be a personal attack. But if you just say the people who believe those things are they can weasel their way out of it - even though it's clearly in response to an individual and targeted at them. It's just petty and sad, I have very little time for it. Just step into any thread in SC and it's full of people with similar opinions back slapping each other, and then snarky snide bad faith arguments, straw mans etc. for the others.
