Recent Graphically Stunning Games?

Winner:
Cm Dirt (racing game btw)

Not sure, but most recent game of lost planet looked very good to me, otherwise if going back intime: Fear, Far Cry.
-RPG:
Oblivion & Lotro I suppose.
-Space:
I personally think X3 looks best still, due to the nice lightning, awesome models ( most more than 10k poly's) , nice reflections, etcetc just looks stunning imo.
-Simulation:
FSX maxed, if your pc can handle it.
-Upcoming:
Crysis
 
try colin Mcrae Dirt as has been suggested

if you like driving games then try test drive unlimited as well

Fear and Stalker can look nice with the eye candy turned up but i dont think you'll beat Dirt :)

Buggy and has its quirks, especially under Vista, and is still waiting for the 3rd 1.004 patch (the one with a lot of optimisations, and dual core goodness) due to THQ (by accounts), but a good game in its own right.

Slow at the start, slowly building up. Some of the parts are quite creepy too!

Yeh G.r.a.w 2 on max does look fantastic. Texture detail is like :eek: .
Also it has the best death/hit animations ever, so fun in multiplayer.
 
Haven't played many graphically stunning games that were released recently (in the last year, say). DiRT looks good in places but has horrendous performance. Flatout 2 is a bit of dark horse, runs very smoothly so you can really crank up those details.

Screenshot wise Call of Juarez looks incredible, not surprising from Techland really as Chrome was arguably the best looking FPS on the market until Far Cry came along.
 
Tomb Raider : Legend at max settings with Next Gen content turned on looks rather nice as well.

to be fair BF2 still has excellent graphics. true when you get up close to a crummy wall texture its a bit naff, but the environments look fantastic.

i play on a 26" Samsung HDTV, and when you sit a few feet away you really do appreciate everything thats going on and the quality of how it looks!
 
i'm playing through Quake4 again with my new pc, c2d 8800gts with 16xAS 4xAA with ultra settings widescreen, it looks fantastic :D
 
Imo Far Cry, whilst not the most graphicly enchanced game ever or anything, still has the best looking water in any game ever, plus the tropical feel to the game is fantastic and the jungles look so good and lush.
