I ordered the:

Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 3870 XT 512MB GDDR4 TV-Out/Dual DVI/HDMI (PCI-Express) - Retail

On friday for saturday delivery and have received what looks like a

Sapphire HD 3870. The fan looks totally different to the way it does pictured on overclockers website and there is no indication anywhere that the model is an XT. The lables on the back and front of the card all say HD 3870.

However I just checked sapphires website and it shows a the same card as displayed on overclockers and looks totally different from the one I recieved this morning.

This is what I ordered:

This is what I got:

Can someone advise? I can accept that they changed the look of the cooler recently but it dosnt say anywhere on the box or the card that is the XT model. Then again on the box shown on the OCUK picture it dosnt say either. Whats up!?!?!?

Don't worry lol

Dual slot cooling with three heatpipes

Sapphire is very busy and it looks like they will have a lot to show off at the upcoming Cebit show, since the new dual slot HD 3870 has just been pictured. This card uses a dual slot cooling solution with three heatpipes and a large center-positioned fan.

This new and rather massive cooler should be able to keep the temperatures on the low side, which means that Sapphire is may be going for the highest factory overclock so far, and the card should even have room for additional user overclocking.

The card's core and memory clocks are still unknown, but they are going to be revealed soon, since the picture of the card is already out. You should also expect a higher price tag for this card, since good dual slot cooling and factory OC usually has its price.

I love you mate - so why does it say nowhere that its the XT model?

When I got my 2900XT it was plastered all over the place!

OCUK even mention DDR4 on the site:

Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 3870 XT 512MB GDDR4 TV-Out/Dual DVI/HDMI (PCI-Express) - Retail

775MHz Core, 512MB 2250MHz GDDR4 Memory, 320 Stream Processors, CrossfireX Ready, 2yr Warranty with Sapphire/OcUK, Supplied Call of Juarez PC-DVD Game!

Thankyou guys! One last question!!! I ordered this with it

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-023-AR&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=787

On the website it says it supports the 3870 however the box says all compatible cards and the 3870 isnt included. Is this just because ocuk have old stock and the packaging will have been updated? Or does anyone reckon they will have included more *bits* in the package so it fits on the 3870? :p

Thx

Cancel that order. No need to buy that with the cooler you got on it.
