Recomend a Space game

for a long time i was looking for like traveling trough universe and stuff game taking over planets maybe rts/rpg game i tried eve online and i did not get it i heard there is some good game in that theme i think its not multilpayer cant remember the name any ideas recommendations?
 
Space Empires any of the 5 releases is good, i prefer the earlier ones, 2D maps and combat. Loved setting up giant battlestations and mine fields at wormhole exit points.

Also Star Trek Birth of the Federation, Master of Orion 2 (make sure its 2 not 3 :)), Nexus the Jupiter Incident (RTS space travelling/missions/combat game), Hegemonia : Legions of Iron, Galactic Empires, Imperium Galactica

etc. there are loads to choose from
 
For space combat and storyline, Freespace 2 (modded up) is pretty much untouchable. Makes Freelancer look like something a highschool kid churned out for a project.
 
Freelancer is ace fun.

Empire building - I'll go with Galactic Civilisations II, essentially Master of Orion but with the good bits left in and the cr@p removed :)

The Freespace 2 mod rocks (it's called SCP forums here the website here (currently a holding page))

* Homeworld - But please play the first one first! The second is ok, but no where near as good (but it is prettier)
* Star Trek Birth of the Federation - Agreeded for turn based strategy it's cool (lots hours of my life playing it :P)
* Nexus the Jupiter Incident - I loved it, but be warned it is bugged to heck (the patch actually makes some parts of the game unplayable, so try and survive without it if you can)
* Star Wars: supremacy (star wars: Rebellion in the USA) - old but cool.
* Starlancer - for a space shoot 'em up was ok, but not great

* X3 is well worth the time to learn (I saw it for only £4 at a competing street reseller, sorry I can't tell you where :( )

* Wing Commander 4 - Yes I'm going right back now. Some people hate it, but I thought 4 was about as near to being in a movie as you can get.

X3. Choose to build space factories and organise your fleets of supply ships. Mooch off and go bountyhunting if you like. Take on escort missions. Chase and assassinate someone. Or even be an evil pirate and just fire on helpless ships until they give up their wares and/or ship. The opportunities are endless. Very immersive but eats up your hours.
 
well i got x3 and and did not see any tutorial. they put you ins pace and tells you to go to.
one of the portals well i give it ago again. is there any Space rts ? i think i played some long time a go turn based white dots were the planets lol but it was fun. of course i would like something better looking now. anyway ty all for recommending
