Recomend me a tablet.

I'm looking to buy a tablet of some kind, but with all the choice in the market things can get a little confusing for a simple person like myself.

Usage requirements:

Surfing the Internet
Word
XL
Some gaming.

Was thinking of buying a Windows tab, something like the Acer Iconia Tab W500 http://www.acer.co.uk/ac/en/GB/content/model/LE.RHC02.045

Are Windows based tabs really any good?
Is there an alternative option to a Windows based tab that will suite my requirements?

Asus Transformer with a keyboard dock?

The iPad 2 should have that covered quite fine, I assume there is Word support, etc, though I haven't used it myself.

It is the best by a mile for any form of gaming and the web browsing is superb if you don't need flash (which isn't all that good on tablets anyway).

As a general rule for tablets at the moment, you should always aim to get the iPad 2 unless there is something specific you need that it doesn't do.

For gaming Ipad2 is the best by a long shot. Unless you want emulated old games then its a Asus Transformer thats best.

I've had no problems playing some great games on the Asus, sure the android app market is not as big as the apple one but it's growing very quickly and besides, how many fart apps do you really want?

There is a big, big, big difference. Nothing to do with fart/soundboard apps, they're rubbish.
