Mainly espresso i will use it for and sometmes cappacunio for guests.

It will be used primarily for me but when i have guests around which is quite frequent, it wil be used for them too.

either lever or electronic pump i do not mind. Only thing i do not want is a all in one bean to cup machine and a Pod type system.

Ive tried the rancilio silva which my mate has and thats pretty decent so i may consider that.

I refuse to believe that someone who's English is this bad has 1k to spend on a coffee machine

Go to a shop and buy one for £1000, clearly you're just wanting it for status and don't really know anything about coffee (or you'd know which one to buy) so what does it matter.

if you do spend that much, i hope you take better care of it than you do of your other appliances. :D

Here are some pics of the oven.

Thats not £5k per week mind thats 1 day per month I make £1k the other days I make £50-£60 if im lucky

Is that how it goes.

Seems pretty daft stating a price in the thread title.

Why not just ask for a high quality coffee machine instead? £1k is an arbitrary figure.

You can get very good quality espresso machines for under £1k - why £1k?!

Then to start chanting about how much money you make? We don't care.

You've gone about asking for help in totally the wrong way if you want to endear yourself to the rest of the community.

Though I do agree with you that the pod machines aren't as good, but why not just state that you're not interested in a pod machine, you have a grinder, and you want a decent coffee machine that will allow you to steam milk, and produce good coffee. It's far less pretentious that way don't you think?

There's a whole thread about coffee machines here:

roundabouts. takes two. why not comment on the person asking how much money i am if they dont care then?

Ive seen people ask similar kind of question ie stating a budget on a thread for something on other forums and yet get mature replies.

This forum seems different. ask for advice and people mock u.

Its cool to mock people it seems?

Ok i may have asked the question slightly wrong but doesnt mean people should mock you? if its a silly question. poor executed then ignore? Why mock someone? Again it takes two to tango.

Last time i will take this forum seriously.

Its not just me that it happens. Check the GD forum. many who ask serious questions always get a few mocking responses regardless of how well structured there posts are.

Sad but is this appropriate? Why cant people just either ignore the OP instead of mocking them or come with a mature reply ?

anyways cheers for the link. i will take a look

I can only assume it is because you stated it had to be a £1k+ coffee machine in the title, it sort of puts a weird spin on your question and a strange request that is likely to get people's backs up.

Yes, people usually ask you for what your budget is - not stating it HAS to be £1k+. Or in your opening post you can say that you are not after a pod machine, have your own grinder, and have a budget of up to £1k so looking at the premium side of coffee machines. Don't you think that comes across a bit more tactful than a rather brash "I want to spend £1k+ on a coffee machine".?

No people are just quick to pick up on strange requests and behaviours. :)

No I agree that perhaps you went about it the wrong way, but you then defiantly defended your position which only eggs people on more... stubbornness just breeds stubbornness :)

I'm sorry to hear that.

GD is a place for light hearted discussions, those that need to be taken seriously are invariably taken more seriously.

It is posted in a public arena, people will contribute. Sometimes if they go over the line the moderation team will step in, but we don't want to be too oppressive with how people interact - we're more interested in content, whether or not any personal attacks or actual aggressive posting is present, if people dig themselves a hole, we either lock the thread, or generally see if the person can deal with the situation in a polite way.

Hope it answers your questions. :)

Only £1,000? I assume you want your coffee to taste like Nescafe instant? Begbie on here knows his coffee and settles for nothing less than a £20,000 machine, none of this cheap tat.

ok cool thanks. Please do lock this thread as the majority are not helfpul at all but you yourself have been far more helfpul then anyone else here.

i dont mind being put across wrong for my posts as long as its done the style you have written ie in a mature manner :)

i like that and not all is lost in this forum so keep being a mod and a helpful poster and i will ignore the immature people here.

Cheers again
