I'm planning on using a B550 board, need to decide on the system drive. I'm after a 1TB but I'm not desperate for every last percentage of performance. Looking at benchmarks, there doesn't seem to be much between a good PCIe 3.0 and 4.0. But 4.0 are a lot more expensive.
I'm tempted to buy a decent 3.0 drive like the ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro 1TB (<£120), leaving the single 4.0 slot free for a 2nd drive in the future when the prices are a little lower? Make sense?
Which are the best 1TB drives for <£120? The Samsung 970 EVO Plus is too expensive. I'm particularly interested in reliability and warranty. There are 1TB available for under £100 but they do seem to lose quite a bit of performance to the SX8200 Pro.
