Good Expensive Cocktails... but then again everywhere is expensive in London. On the two occasions I have been there, never noticed a dancefloor...

Try Sugar Reef or On Anon as they have plenty of areas for chilling out and Dancefloors too... Sway is also good.. but thats heading to Cov gdn.

Give them a call and arrange an area.

I think there's some in Smithfields (eg The **** Tavern) which pretty much serve round the clock, so the meatpackers that work funny hours can get drinks when they knock off.

/EDIT - On the subject of good places to go with your mates, BTRs on Whitfield Street do very cheap Karaoke along with passable Korean food and beer. They are open reasonably late as well (until 1am?). So a good place to go if you are drunk and looking for cheap entertainment in that area. It's pretty shabby inside, but you are getting what you pay for (Lucky Voice round the corner is literally 3-4 times as expensive).

Regarding cheap bars to drink in, maybe try and go somewhere in Hackney. Some good places in that vicinity.

Oh yeah and if you want to go for a meal beforehand, check out Lahore Kebab house on Umberston St. It is not in fact a kebab house, but a very cheap, but very good Pakistani restaurant. It's bring your own booze as well. Just ask for the mixed meat thing. Typically you can get very drunk and eat until you are bursting for £10 (plus whatever you spend on Booze from the off license).

Then there are plenty good drinking holes / bars near there.

Lab Bar in Soho. They do an evil cocktail called Don the Beach Comber which is restricted to 2 per customer. Downside is this place is a bit expensive, otherwise you could try Match Bard or Wax Bar, both pretty decent places for an evening out I would say

Ok, this quite a bad thread revival, but I figure that as the OP, I have some rights in the matter :p hehe

Just went to lab bar yesterday (ended up in Verve for the bday. People handling queues in Guanabara were being annoying and people inside were saying it wasn't that good) and it was awesome :D Great drinks there.

As you said, was expensive, but went there with my working cousin who was buying me drinks all night :) hehe but great tasting stuff. So just wanted to say thanks for the place wildman :D Will defintley go there again at some point.

And this don beachcomber thing. Saw it on the menu and was...intrigued :) hehe have you had it? is it actually tasty?
 
The Verve? I sometimes go in there for a few drinks, little exspensive though. I have to admit most clubs up there are exspensive anyway, so you expect it.
