Recommend a good brand of paint

You must be living in the 90's because every unit I/we have built in the last 5 years has been white / white, I'm building 800 now and none of them are magnolia.

I'd always go for satinwood over gloss, I've been using Leyland satinwood recently and found it nice to work with. Bet it still goes yellow in a few years though.

just my 2p, as crazy as it sounds b&q colours quick dry (waterbased) gloss is great, easy to apply, gives a nice sheen & stays white much longer than anything else ive seen, still brilliant white years on where others have yellowed.

ive used dulux, crown, homebase & b&q paint in my house, matt on matt it doesn't really matter for coverage as long as its prepped properly.

mist coat of matt everywhere watered down first to adhere, the a 2nd mist coat only slightly watered and then final 2 coats of final matt colour.

skirting and wood, knotted, primed with undercoat x2 and then a final coat of gloss.

agree with the above about not cutting in the ceiling, always run over on the ceiling to hide any imperfections with the joins, ive been taping my walls and glossing onto the tape to give a straight line without the fuss.

Farrow and Ball
Little Green
Craig and Rose

If they have the colour you want.

I'm about to redecorate and I'm looking at Craig and Rose, quite a bit cheaper if you go directly to them.

Chalk paint is a really stunning look.

Our new build was painted with crown trade magnolia and it is crap. It comes of with water.

I splattered some BBQ sauce on a wall and when I went to clean it off with a damp sponge the paint came off too!

Probably due to them not applying a mist coat first 50/50 paint/water to the new plaster.

I think that's more to do with the quality of workmanship than the paint
