hey guys.

finally got myself a new card, its a XFX 7950 DD Black edition :D.

i had to drop my CPu to stock because my 500WATT psu wont power that @ 4.6 and the GPU @ stock, plus everything else.

so i will be on the look out for a new PSU :)

can anyone recommend one, that will have enough power so i can overclock my CPU again, and my GPU.

As cheap as possible please :D

Thank you :)

Jonny, there is a promotion for eevga psu's at ocuk.
40£ for 500w model, 50 for 600w, 84 for 750w. Thats non modular ones.
There is a full modular 650w for 96£, gold rating.
You just need to check at evga site if they are haswell ready, if you want it to be.
One thing I can tell you - you wont hear that psu fan working, even uner full load :-)

The thing with the EVGA psu's is that apart from the 1000G2 and 1300G2 (Super flower units) they are not very good. The rest, built by HEC and FSP have had poor to mediocre reviews and i wouldn't touch them personally.

hmm, ill look into them :), thanks!

iv just done a little OC of 1100/1575 with CCC, and it crashed out running valley lol.

so because i have a nzxt 410 with all fans, 2 HDD's, DVD, CM Seidon Closed loop system, 8GB DDR3, also gunna be custom looping it soon! (just need 2 rads and im off! :D ), fx6300, 7950 dd BE stock is 900/1375. im thinking of going towards the 750watt mark, so i have plenty of head room for Oc'ing :)

also got a ram cooler in there, and fan controller. (410 standered one)

Anyone recommend a 750watt ?

Not really, I had a overclocked i7 2700k with Gigabyte WF 670 GTX and custom water and this pulled 330w from the mains at full load.

well after googling the power for the 7950 under load, it pulls nearly 200watts on its own, and my fx6300 @ stock pulls 160watts @ full load, so @ 4.6 it mus be more and the GPU Oc'd must be more. so i think im gunna need more than 330watts lol

Errr, whats wrong with my psu?
Nothing, its best psu I had over past 5 years.
And I had bad luck with corsair, had to rma one of their psu's. It was noisy like a power drill.
Quality is on par with other same class psu's and warranty terms are awsome.
And reviews, just lol...
I heard some asus gpu's were faulty, still a lot of people recommend those to people in this forum.
So much for negative reviews...

That almost sounds like a faulty GPU!

Can you test another GPU in your system or yours in a friends pc.

Edit: how does the system cope with all at stock?
