Recommend an MMORPG for a newbie

ESO is decent to play through with a few friends, I dont really see it as an MMO, I think of it as more of a Co-op online RPG.

I sort of see GW2 as more of a co-op online RPG than an MMO too, but to less of a degree than ESO.

SW:TOR has a good story but I wouldnt want to play an MMO just to play it as a single player game, straight up single player games are usually much better at that (in this example, I'd rather play KOTOR 1 and 2 than SWTOR if I was just single playering it)

FFXIV is also my mmo of choice currently, it's only downvote is on the PvP content (so if that's your focus it won't be your thing) - however OP doesn't want to pay a subscription

The end game pve is top shelf though, and the entire game is polished and well balanced.
