recommend graphics card upgrade

Yup, two 12V rails with 33A total, which means it's powerful enough to run pretty much any graphics card out including 8800s etc. assuming it's not woefuly inefficient (unlikely being a Thermaltake.) :)

Usually you can't just add the two 12v rails together ya know... ?

errr why not?

You are unlikely to find any modern psu with over 20a on one rail. That's why graphics cards now have additional power sockets so they can take power off more than one rail.

One of the best psu you can buy has 4 x 18a 12v rails. You saying that this is no good?????

Sorry to hijack but I have a similar question and it saves another thread: can an Akasa PaxPower 460W run a 8800 GTX? The manufacturer's specs say it has dual 15A 12V rails. Thanks.

Doubtful. You might be lucky but the GTX are power hogs and need at least 30a from memory. I think the recommended psu is 600W so to be safe I;d be looking at a psu upgrade as well.

I had that exact same PSU when I first got my GTS and it ran it fine, can't speak for a GTX though sorry.
