so take a look at it lol. ive already said clean it up and remount it

heh, yup, meant to say, have already checked that and it seems fine..
Have just looked at the manual for the P180 and there is a fan bay in front of the HDD bays. Just ordered the Antec 120mm tri cool fan for that bay.
When I hold my hand over the vents where the fans are I can't feel much air coming out, of course there is some but not much.

Make sure you have good airflow in your case. No obstructions. Have one fan at the front sucking air in and one at the rear blowing air out. Then, put a Thermalright SI-120 Heatsink on the CPU with a Nexus or Akasa 120mm fan. Any fans in your system now, clean then. A lot also has to do with ambient temperature too.

cheers Monkeybutt...
The help on here has been fantastic and it must have been obvious to you that I am an amateur at this stuff as I got my mate to build the PC.
Gonna order that heatsink that has been suggested a lot. Can you supply me a link to the fan on the OC site please?

i would agree, the Arctic Freezer 64 Pro is one hell of a fan! keeps my temps right down, but you don't realise how BIG it is until you actually recieve it! plus it's an arse to fit if your short on space! I had to remove the intake on my case lol :D

hi guys, as requested, here are a few pics of my case.

Sort your wires out, they are gonna be restricting the Airflow.

What temps do you run if you pop the case side off when in windows? Post before and after. If there is more than a degree or 2 difference, then you have Airflow issues.

That looks like the stock cpu cooler.

If you upgrade to a better cooler you should find that the cpu temperature will be a quite a bit lower.

Get an artic cooler on your graphics card (one that blows out the back of the case)... That will help quite a bit too.

I have the same case, but I run upgraded cpu/graphics coolers and I swapped the standard case fans for silent ones as I didnt need all the airflow!

Cheers,

you said you removed and cleaned your cpu fan. were those pics taken before or after you did that?
and christ yes, sort that wiring out.

before :)
Yeah, just been and got a pack of cable ties to sort the wiring out.
As for the arctic cooler on the graphics card... is the big fan that blows out the back referred to as the graphics card fan? not the actual fan on the gfx card?
Just checking the cpu temp.
When using windows with the side panel on its at 46degs
When using windows with side panel off its 45/46 degs

Windows doesnt load the pc up, hence hike the temperatures up... You need to try both tests (side on/off) under load... Something like the Prime 95 stress test or 3dmark on a loop....
