Recommend me a game please

I have a bit of time off and wouldn't mind getting a game, though I'm not sure what to buy.

I liked and have sold on the games styled as these :

Quake 4
Lost Planet
Gears of War
Crysis
Bioshock
Call of Duty 4
Half Life 2

Are there any more new ones out there please? I like start and end points and very linear story lines. I don't want too much freedom e.g. Oblivion or a role playing game e.g. Sims.

Cheers for any suggestions offered.

have a bash at half life 2 , ep1 and 2. for single player.

for mp id try counter strike source, team fortress 2 and insurgency (thats a mod though so free !

) if you havent tried them before.

Another vote for Prey! Prefered it to Quake 4, Cod4, FarCry etc

Storyline is very immersive

orange box is a must have if your short of games.(its hl2 ep1 ep2 tf2 portal).

The Orange box is a great buy mate, Team Fortress 2 is a brilliant online game, i would also recommend getting Bioshock and Call of Duty 4 before anything else.

HL2 + episodes if you havnt. These are a MUST!

Portal is a good short one too
