Hello, I was browsing the products here at OC, but I am still not sure which would suit my needs.

I am looking for a decent budget system, anywhere from between £400-£600...am hoping that within that range I can get one that has the ability to play mainly WoW on high settings, that has an HDMI slots for dual or triple screening and can stream twitch at the same time. Also a built in wifi card would be handy.

Would also be nice to be upgradable, my old gaming PC that was £500 is now dieing, it's 6 years old, had 2GB RAM back then but was only upgradable to 4GB which I did, but still was not enough, so if I have one I can upgrade in a few years to still run smoothly would be a bonus.

I know I can build my own, but I don't want too, I'd rather pay the extra to have it done by an expert than risk making a mistake :).

Thanks.

I think you might have to stretch it a bit more for a gaming pc.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £607.49
(includes shipping: £12.60)

Upgrade-wise:

More RAM can be added.
Skylake i5/i7K can be added, and overclocked.
More storage can be added.
Case takes 240mm radiators at the top.
PSU can cope with most CPU/GPU combos out there. Can go cheaper (it's what takes it over budget) but it's at a good price right now and worth going for.

SSD comes with the GPU.

If you need Windows, that changes everything.

Build fee would be quoted to you in the OcUK Customer Service Pre-Order forum, or phoning them.

You'd have to use the right HDMI-to-DVI-D adapters if your screens only have HDMI.

Not bad.

for who?

most of that i kept from a recent mock with altering certain bits to get within 600, an ssd could be worked in to it by changing other bits, but an ssd isnt always an option for this price point and im doing fine without one, think 8.1 loads quick enough on my sata 3 hdd if you take away programs that slows it down ha and i have a 500gb and another on its way for more storage.

windows 10 should load quicker if what they say is correct.

in time I will get one, but not rush, but other than getting the gpu with ssd then there's no real point trying to budget one in that the 4-600 price point.

Whenever I build a pc, no matter what the budget, the first thing on the list is an ssd. It makes even the slowest computer feel fast and responsive.

i know i havent tried an ssd yet, but a 6gb hdd is quite fast if you compare it to the older 3gb and later and it helps if you have a good os and not so much start up programs for quicker boots.

im not trying to put the op off, just saying an ssd isnt always an option, not for a decent size anyways.

Thanks for the advice so far guys.

I thought I'd mention that my budget is a starting point for the short term, as it's all I can put into a new gaming PC at the moment.

This is why upgrading in the future is important, like in a few months I'd have another £300 to bang into it, and another few months the same, so over the course of a year I'd end up putting in maybe £1300 total.

If that is achievable of course, as I say I don't even know the basics of computer building, like if I started off with a £500 machine that has i3, 8gb ram and a decent starting graphics card (etc), and want to end up with i7, 16gb and a badass card in a years time by throwing a few £300 chunks into it every few months?.

Thanks again.

Well, ignore my previous motherboard/RAM suggestion - that Asus Z170 is DDR3 not DDR4.

Do you need Windows too, or can you re-use or pick up a cheap key?

And when are you aiming to buy? As prices change.

I have a Windows 7 disc and key, which I don't mind using as I like Windows7, but will go Windows 10 probably at some point, I get the download free message all the time.

I am aiming to buy in about 2-3 weeks.

You can now download the latest copy of Windows 10 from the Microsoft site that no longer requires installing Windows 7 and then upgrading to 10 before doing a clean install of 10. Have to say I'm more pleased with a clean 10 install than the 7 + 10 upgrade I'd been running on my own system till a few weeks ago.

Ask again for specs a few days prior to purchase, bearing in mind the weekly price changes on Wednesdays. Meantime ask any specific questions you may have.

You could check out some itx boards. The gigabyte one comes with WiFi attached to the board. So no need for an extra card. And there are lots of awesome looking itx cases.
