Recommend me a Gaming PC

No worries.

Sorry to sound condescending but if money is tight and you want a high-end PC the sensible thing to do is save up. It's less agro.

If you can't wait but the £700 machine you posted is in budget then just go for that. Don't start worrying about this GPU or that one, because the GPU is literally the easiest part of the PC to swap in/out and buy/sell, so if you change your mind in 3 months it's no problem. (Not so with the motherboard/SSD/PSU etc. so it's worth getting them right first time IMO.)

I am quite happy with how much I have learnt since this thread, and thanks to you all for your replies.

So since you said DVI-D was better, I just went to the local PC World to pick up an overpriced cable, popped it in my monitor and computer and noticed an instant difference in quality!...should have done this 7 years ago, but guilty of not learning LOL, am getting interested in it all a bit now so will probably stick around and learn some more.

Just throwing my rig in here as I made a similar budget to you last year. It plays the latest games at 1080p at 60fps easy. The Doom open Beta also got me 60 fps too which was nice.

I recently got the GTX 970 for £260, but you could go for a £100 cheaper card and get what you want.

I think my total spend for everything, including case and PSU, SSD, custom cpu heatsink etc was £570. I bet you can get what you need for £500 and be future proofed for a good 3 years.
